Church Family News

 Our Prayer List

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY:

** To the congregation of the Central Church of Christ,
We want you to know our great appreciation for all you did for our Uncle J.C. Weddel. He really loved you. We heard many stories about your generosity, companionship, and friendly gestures toward Uncle J. We truly appreciate everything that was done to make the service so special. We also want to tell the ladies in the lunch room how much we appreciated the fine meal (to use Uncle J's words). I (Marty) was enjoying the food so much I ran late to the graveside services. You have MANY outstanding members! Our world would be so much better if there were more of you.
Our Sincere Thanks,
The J.C. Weddel family, Jimmy, Marty, Will, Karen, and Rockey

** Erasmo Moreno, Avery's grandfather, is in I.C.U. at NWT hospital. Please keep him in your prayers.

** It is with a spirit of great celebration that we announce the baptism of Calvin and Jamie last Sunday, December 13th. We rejoice with Calvin, Jamie and their family for their spiritual commitment.

 TWO GREAT RESOURCES

Did you know we have two great resources at the church for study? Have you looked at the church library in a while? We are always adding new books to it. Also, have you checked out the sermon tape library? There are many good topics there also.

Thoughts

A Little Girl's Prayer

A little girl was being punished by being forced to eat alone in the corner of the dining room. The family paid no attention to her until they heard her pray: "I thank You, Lord, for preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies."

While the above story is funny, it's stands as a reminder of how easy it is to appear spiritual by our words, while masking an inner spirit of bitterness, resentment or anger. You can't bless God, while cursing your brother.

James 3:9-10

9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God's likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

I love you all,

Tim

Thought for the Week

Proverbs 22:8 -- Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity,

and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.
